One year ago today, I went to the emergency room with shortness of breath. The doctor admitted me because my sodium was low and I spent the 4th of July weekend in the hospital. Until yesterday I was doing pretty well. I had the feeding tube removed a few weeks ago, and was eating a variety of foods. I was also able to swallow some of my pills (I crushed the others and put them in applesauce). Continue reading »

This last surgery made a big difference in my ability to eat. I even had pizza and lasagna last weekend. Every bite still hurts, but the pain isn’t as intense as it was before. And I still have to take medication around the clock to control it. Continue reading »
